because it looked fun. And it is

I bought this book kind of on a whim, because it looked fun. And it is. In fact, I think of it as a marriage of the Unix geek ethos with The Whole Earth Catalog (for those of you old enough to know what that is) with the Flying Circus of Physics thrown in. This guy loves what he's talking about, and is smart enough that he doesn't feel he has to impress you with his brilliance -- he just wants you to understand and enjoy.

Fun with Math and Python

This is a great little book on mathematical and scientific implementation using python. Though not exhaustive, the author touches several common areas of computational math and provides good code snippets and algorithms for the same. The explanation is very clear and interesting. Its a nice book to have in your shelf especially if you are interested in mathematics and artificial intelligence. The famous numpy and matplotlib packages of python were used almost everywhere.
All the code was implemented in python 2.7, would have been better if python 3.X was used, Apart from that this book is worth the price and time.

Great book with typos.

Awedome, fun book. Lots of interesting projects. Great as an intro to python and scientific computing for the mathematically inclined. The exposition is witty and entertaining. Although, there are a lot of typos, mostly obvious, occurring a few times in every chapter.
